# Bleme · Frequently asked questions

## Category questions

### How do I organize my DJ music library?
The traditional approach (folders by genre or BPM) breaks down when your library grows. Bleme organizes it automatically by sonic characteristics, and you explore it as a 3D map or by looking for similar tracks with Seed. No manual tags, no spreadsheets.

### Should I organize by genre, BPM or energy?
That's the wrong question · genres are ambiguous and BPM doesn't describe mood. Bleme analyzes how each track sounds and groups similar ones together, so you don't have to pick a criterion.

### How do I export playlists to Rekordbox without losing my cues?
Bleme writes playlists, cues and metadata to the Rekordbox and Traktor libraries with bidirectional sync and an automatic backup before writing. Nothing gets overwritten: existing cues and grids are respected.

### Does Bleme replace Rekordbox or Traktor?
No: it complements them. Rekordbox and Traktor are optimized for playing; Bleme covers the management and prep stage that comes before, and exports the result to them.

### How is Bleme different from Lexicon or Mixed In Key?
Lexicon focuses on cleanup and cross-software library conversion; Mixed In Key on harmonic analysis. Bleme focuses on the work process: exploring and building sets by sonic similarity, and exporting to Rekordbox/Traktor. It's also Spanish-native.

### How do I find similar tracks in my own library?
With Seed: pick a track and Bleme lists the ones that best match it in mood, energy and texture · all within your own analyzed library, no tags required.

## Product

### What is Bleme?
A desktop app for DJs that organizes your music library by sonic characteristics. It works on top of your existing library and syncs with Traktor, Rekordbox and iTunes.

### Do I need to learn anything new to use it?
No. Point Bleme at the folder where your music lives and it starts working. The two main features (Seed and Cluster) are direct: pick a track or navigate the map.

---

## Compatibility

### What operating systems does it work on?
Windows has a stable release. macOS is in development.

### What audio formats does it support?
MP3, WAV, AIFF and FLAC.

### Can I use it with my current Rekordbox / Traktor / iTunes?
Yes. Bleme works on top of your existing library in any of the three. It syncs playlists, cues and metadata without overwriting what you already had.

### Does it touch my playlists or cues in Rekordbox / Traktor?
No. Sync is additive: it adds information without overwriting. Before every write, it backs up the original file.

### Is the app UI in English?
Currently Spanish-first. English UI is on the roadmap.

## Your data

### Does Bleme move or rename my files?
No. Audio files stay exactly where they are, with the same names. Bleme keeps its own data in a separate database.

### Can I stop using Bleme without side effects?
Yes. If you uninstall, your library and your other software stay as they were. Bleme creates no dependencies in your setup.

### Is analyzed data sent to any server?
The audio of your tracks is never sent. The analysis is done securely, and the resulting data stays available for offline use on your machine.

---

## About analysis

### What does Bleme need to analyze a track?
The audio file and an internet connection the first time it's added. After that, you navigate the library offline.

### How long does it take to analyze my library?
Depends on the size. Analysis runs in the background: you can keep using the app while it processes. New tracks are added on their own as they appear in monitored folders.

### Can I choose which tracks to analyze?
Yes. You can point Bleme at a specific folder or your whole library. You can also exclude subfolders.

---

## Seed and Cluster

### What's the difference between Seed and Cluster?
- **Seed** starts from a specific track and returns a list of similar ones.
- **Cluster** shows your entire library at once as a map where similar things stay close.

### Can I use Seed with a track that's not in my library?
Not yet. Seed needs the track to be in the analyzed library.

### How do I interact with the Cluster map?
With the mouse: rotate with click-and-drag, zoom with the wheel. Hover a point to see the track, click to play it.
